Join our new course Changemakers in Circular Economy and Sustainability 3ECTS, starting 18th of March!
The course provides a comprehensive understanding of how you can be a changemaker by developing your project or venture idea, with a strong focus on sustainability and circular economy in entrepreneurship. It fosters creativity and innovation, empowering you to create meaningful impact. Whether you already have a business idea or not, you are welcome to join!
What will you gain?
- You will explore and develop venture ideas, discuss practical applications, and deepen your knowledge in key topics such as impact measurement, circular and sustainable business models, financing for impact, and theory of change.
- Crucial entrepreneurial competencies such as leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, and creative solutions development.
- The course includes participation in the Startup Weekend, weekly lectures, and team-based project work, emphasizing hands-on experience and real-world applications.
- Experienced professionals and academic experts contribute their expertise throughout the course.
Practical Information:
- Course format: In-person sessions at the Innovation Garage, Kreuzstrasse 4, 4123 Allschwil
- Schedule: Startup Weekend on 28th-30th of March, regular sessions on Tuesdays from 18th of March – 13th of May, 16:30 – 19:30 & Final Presentation on 22nd of May, 16:30 – 19:30.

ECT credits and registration:
Application deadline: February 28th 2025
This is a masters’ course, and no prerequisites are required. Upon successful completion of this course, students receive 3 ECTS. Students are responsible for checking whether the ECTS of this course are credited to their study program. The number of participants is limited (max. 30) and participants will be selected based on their “application”.
Interested students should email Sophie Schumacher (sophie.schumacher@unibas.ch) before February 28, 2025. Please include:
- Your name, study major, number of completed semesters, and matriculation number.
- Your knowledge/background in entrepreneurship.
- A short motivation statement explaining why you are interested in participating.
- If you have a business idea, provide a short description.
- Confirmation that you have checked whether ECTS from this course will be accepted by your faculty.
- Selected participants will be confirmed via email by March 4, 2025. After confirmation, students can enroll through the Online Services (services.unibas.ch).
